060802 Manager, Network and Security, Sterling, VA

 

Will serve as a Manager of Network and Computer Security and will oversee the Network Engineering staff and provides direction regarding local-area and wide-area networking, switches, routers, firewalls, security, intrusion detection, remediation, and prevention, SAN, data lines, and network monitoring.

 

Duties include:

  • Oversees goal development, training matrices, and performance.
  • Responsible for tracking HEAT tickets applicable to his/her group and ensures that open action items, critical tickets, root-causes, and new issues are addressed.
  • Determines resource needs, assigns project resources, prepares CCB notifications, and sustains accountability.
  • Maintain proper staffing levels.
  • Ensures that all hardware and software purchased will conform to the standard baseline configuration agreed upon by IT management.   The Manager reviews and is familiar with contracts presented to the department for hardware, software, and services, and other statements of work.   He/she is responsible for forecasting and developing his/her portion of the annual budget for the upcoming year, and keeping monthly expenditures within budget during the year.
  • Will manage IT security, compliance, and associated architecture across the enterprise, and serve as the focal point for computer security incident response planning and execution.
  • Identify projects to enhance cyber security posture and mitigate vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Perform ongoing network incursion reviews to uncover and address potential infrastructure vulnerabilities.
  • Validate compliance to security protocols, including enforcement and administration of network security policies and services through firewalls, proxy services, LANs, WANs, VPNs, and VoIP.
  • Conduct research pertaining to the latest internet security risks and make recommendations regarding technological advances in combating unauthorized access to information such as Intrusion Detection System/Intrusion Protection System (IDS/IPS), Virtual Private Network (VPN), access lists, firewall rules, content filters and secure gateways.
  • Manage the implementation and ongoing exercise of annual vulnerability and penetration testing, possibly using external service providers.
  • Apply best practices to transmission and storage of sensitive/confidential data.
  • Evaluate suspected internal and vendor/customer security breaches and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in the review of applications and/or technology environments during the development or acquisitions process to assure compliance with corporate security policies and directions.
  • Develop and maintain training materials to educate administrators, managers, and users about the importance of system and data security.
  • Provide senior-level technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee enterprise-wide administration of the LAN/WAN including switches, routers, and firewalls, and perform network monitor and ensure network security.

Requirements include:

  • Must be a US Citizen, and able to obtain a TOP SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE

·         Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Mathematics, Science, or Engineering.  Advanced degree preferred.

·         CCNA certification is preferred.

  • Over 5 years of hands-on experience in Network/Systems design and support of varied networking and SAN equipment including Cisco, Extreme, Nokia, CheckPoint, and HDS.
  • Advanced working and administrative knowledge LAN/WAN, SAN, TCP/IP, switching, routing, firewalls, network management, network security, high availability concepts and data lines including MPLS.
  • Extensive experience implementing network, perimeter and host based security solutions including firewalls, data networks, modems, hubs, switches, and routers.
  • CCNA certification is preferred.

Will serve as a Procurement Specialist for a growing organization. Will process completed purchase requisitions in our procurement module and provide purchase order numbers to both budget owners and vendors.  Will initially also be tasked with handing some Accounts Payable functions assisting in processing employee expense reports for reimbursement.  As this position develops, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for developing processes for the following: soliciting bids, negotiating and purchasing materials, services, equipment, and supplies from vendors. This role will also be responsible for ensuring that contractual policies and processes are implemented and adhered to.

 

Duties include:

  • Processes completed purchase requisitions accurately per company policy and provide purchase order numbers to budget owners and vendors on a timely basis.
  • Audits and processes employee T/E expense reports submitted for reimbursement accurately for payment on a timely basis. 
  • Develops and coordinates new procurement policies and procedures related to purchasing goods and services.
  • Negotiates and/or coordinates the negotiation of purchase contracts for all products and services not contracted through our legal department.
  • Assists in developing requirements and be involved in the automation/test of procurement software module. 
  • Assists in developing training material, prepare lesson plans, and oversee procurement training.
  • Serves as the organization’s Procurement representative on behalf of the Accounting/Finance Department on Procurement issues and procedures and works closely with the contracts department to ensure all new contracts have accurately completed purchase requisitions for timely payment.

  • Advises management and/or staff regarding purchases and supply requirements, specifications, quantity and quality of merchandise and delivery terms; Obtains proper specifications, quotations, delivery terms and costs; and explores and recommends alternatives to save money or improve delivery.

  • A minimum amount of overnight travel may be required to assist in the training prior to the Procurement module going live.  This is viewed as a one time event.

Will serve as a Database Systems Engineer / Project Manager for the development and deployment of a data management system.  This data management system provides the ability to secure, store, retrieve and utilize data.

System is nearing completion of initial development and will be deployed to the first site this fall.

Duties include:

Provide senior level systems engineering and project manager leadership to include technical solutions, schedules, systems build-out and project budgets.

-Prior experience in fielding automated systems in overseas locations a plus.
