We are staffing a fulltime position as an Electrical Engineer for an established company. This person will design, develop and support innovative industrial opto-electronic products that solve customer problems in the UV curing, germicidal and printing markets. Work within a small multidisciplinary technical team to plan, develop, design, create, build, test and deliver the best solutions to customers. This person will interface with customers and sales to develop design requirements, schedule and associated project labor and material cost estimates. Work closely with suppliers, Manufacturing and Sales during product development to optimize design for timeliness, cost, performance, manufacturability, service and reliability. Participate within internal and external design teams to specify, design, debug, document and deliver cost effective high-quality analog and/or digital electrical products. Job requires occasional travel to customers or trade shows for sales and marketing support.
Requirements include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 – 3 years of experience in an electronic design environment or 5 years in a technical or engineering related field.
  • Circuit design and firmware development are essential. 
  • Experience with optics (lenses, filters), material properties (thermal/optical properties), RF circuit design or Avionics field a plus.
  • Strong understanding of digital and analog electronic circuit design.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of problem solving, creativity and analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly from R&D (manage unknowns) to Manufacturing (manage processes) environment.
  • Familiar with CAD tools for design, simulation, analysis and schematic generation.
  • Proficient in embedded firmware development in C/C++ and assembly language.
  • Skilled in use of electronic test equipment (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and programmable power supplies).
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented work ethic able to work independently on multiple projects as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of applicable ISO processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, MS Project.
  • Must be comfortable working in an office, electronic lab, UV optics lab and light manufacturing environment.
  • Candidate must successfully pass a background check and employment verification.

Desired skills include:

  • Calibrating electronic and/or optical measurement equipment.
  • Measurement uncertainty and/or error propagation.
  • Analysis and data collection techniques.
  • Use of advanced electronic measurement equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, and vector network analyzers.
  • High level programming software, such as MatLab or Octave. Good writing skills, particularly for writing procedures, such as test procedures.
  • Electronic test and quality standards (DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, EN 61000, EN55011, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 17025).
