Arlington, VA is not a city but rather a county of 26 square miles and 230,000 residents located directly across the Potomac from Washington, D.C. Like most of the towns along the Potomac River, Arlington has a long history dating back to the late 17th century. Home to the Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, and the 9/11 Memorial, Arlington is a mix of high density housing, government agencies and commercial districts.

The big employment news for Arlington, particularly for technical staffing, is Amazon’s 2018 announcement that it selected the county as the home of its second headquarters. Arlington is at the east end of the Dulles Tech Corridor and the addition of Amazon will make the area a major center for technology and innovation.
